Hurghada is the paradise for all sail boarders and kite surfers. They already came here before the opening of the international airport, because Hurghada offers perfect wind conditions the whole year through, especially during the summer. The wind at the Red Sea results from the temperature difference between land and sea, this process is additionally strengthened by the mountains and the offshore Gifton Island. The wind blows already frequently from early in the morning to the evening and usually increases in strength during the daily. In addition the coast is flat and exhibits no hem reef; all these conditions are perfect for wind and Kite surfing.
Today this destination is a well-known resort for sail boarders, divers and sunbathers. The airport is accessible within 10 minutes and there is a large selection of diving centers in Hurghada. For the less sportily interested visitors offer the hotels and Resorts offer in a large selection of less extreme, but rather relaxative kinds of water sports. A snorkel trip to Gifton Island is recommendable. A trip by paddleboat, canoe, catamaran, see-through boats or submarines might also be an enrichment of your holiday. Some resorts even offer parasailing.
