The Egyptians are a positive and open people. They are curious and sociable. Again and again stranger are positively surprised of their hospitality and geniality. Of course there are also some negative examples like the importunateness of overeager dealers or the primitive "hitting on" European, particularly blond women. However one should not overestimate these, because black sheeps are known everywhere.
Nevertheless, do not let the chance slip of having time for a discussion with a native, it will cost nothing. Many Egyptians in Hurghada speak English, German or Russian, and if that is not enough, then you can take your hand and feet to assistance.
Nevertheless, there is often the impression that there are very few native women on the roads of Hurghada. This is a misleaded impression. If you visit the new developed residential area (Mubarak 2, Mubarak 5) at the outskirt of the city centre with a shared taxi or the native market (however predominantly in the morning), you can get to know the female portion of the native population. Often they sit front of the house and converse with the neighbors about God and the world, exactly like in other countries.
